football fix tonightIf you need a football fix tonight there is a Lancashire Senior Cup tie at Christie Park kick off 7 pm
against Wigan Athletic.
The Shrimps are using it to get some returning first teamers such as Michael Twiss and Wayne Curtis a bit of match practice. Heskey and Cattermole may be turning out for the Latics.

not a thrilling game but the Shrimps won 2-1 wih 2 goals for Sir Michael Twiss.
Home to Bolton Wanderers in the quarter final.
Its not the competition it was back in 1968. We had 5,000 at Christie for the final against Burnley and their forward line that night was Ralph Coates, Dave Thomas , Steve Kindon , Frank Casper and Martin Dobson. The Shrimps turned them over 2-1 with the late great Arnold Timmins scoring a couple.
