No longer pointless!!Big congrats to all the team (and officials) for overcoming all the odds and no only surviving the season, but ending on +ve points and earning a lot of respect from non-league football in general.

So Mac_Lad how can you explain what has been going on at Giant Axe.
Last season with no wage bill to speak of and against vastly superior opposition to this season the local players pulled in to play did so with pride and passion even though points were hard to come by.
This season with a comparatively huge wage bill and playing against what are little better than "ale house teams" the results have been either very average or downright shocking.
Is it time to jetison the overpaid Barrow etc rejects and bring back the locals who want to play with pride and passion?

We don't have a massive wage bill as far as I am aware, we still have a fairly youngish side, and are still in witha chance of the play offs, the club is in existance and is now well run, all games are sponsored, the club is stable, which is the most important thing. It is a season of transition.

if the wage bill is £1,000/£1,500 per week it is huge compared with fortnightly gate money.
It appears looking at the side that a good number of last years players have been deemed surplus to be replaced by the likes of "Zico" , Stringfellow, Foster etc. "Zico" is a waste of space IMHO.
My point is that having dropped to a very low level , results have been average at best and PNE have more chance of reaching their play-offs than Lancaster of reaching theirs.
Maybe a more inspirational manager is needed.

Zeeks has not had the best of seasons to say the least, as with PNE they need somone to put the ball in the net, they are a priceless commodity
