Shrimps versus Grimsby Town FA Cup 1st roundvery enjoyable considering we had 9 first teamers out injured which went up to 10 in the first half when Adam Yates went off with a cut leg that revealed his bone and will be out for 3 weeks.
Will be watching ITV highlights tonight to watch our 18 year old centre forward score 2 poachers goals.
And even better £20,000 for getting through.

The former Lasher played out of his skin last season when we played them in the JP Trophy.

Well they weren't in the Johnstones Paint Trophy 1st round and they haven't beaten Cheltenham yet.
We will have more chance of beating them than City.
How many times have City made the 2nd round in their history?

Have you been studying the archives to see how many times Lancaster have appeared in the 2nd round of the FA Cup?
PS
the 2nd qualifying round doesn't count although they didn't reach that this year !

and they didnt beat us full stop and it was at Ice Station Zebra.
Come up with many of Citys' heroic FA cup appearances in Round 2 ?
They still talk about the time they scored a goal at Notts County or was it Northampton in 1972 !

You should know the higher a team goes in the pecking order the harder it is to win league titles.
What is the point in dropping umpteen divisions just to win a pub league!
The play-offs are plenty good enough.
We have been to Wembley twice in my lifetime and won them both.
Also won another National Cup The Bob Lord Trophy in 1998.
The only club in the entire 92 to have NEVER suffered a relegation.
What have City got on their honours board, The Dog and Duck league trophy !

Strangely you've spent the vast majority of your time playing in the Dog and Duck leagues, how soon you forget. Anyway this has been on the other forum time and time again and is boring.

I would dispute this thing about us playing the majority of our time in pub leagues.
When we were in the Lancs Combination from 1920 to 1968 this was the highest tier of non league football we could play in as everything was regionalised (4 Championship titles in the 1960's which were halcyon years for the Shrimps)
The Northern Premier League which we were in from 1968 to 1995 was the highest possible level until the Gola Alliance started in 1978. We were given the option to be a founder member but opted not to join on cost grounds and allowed Barrow to take our place.
Then from 1995 to 2007 we were in the Conference which is the highest level of non league football.

apparently Cheltenham were too good for Oldham who were missing most of their strikers including drink drive Lee Boing Boing Hughes.
this worked out as I hoped as all Oldhams missing players would have been back for the next round.

I shall enjoy talking to him again.
I usually stand behind the away dugout and had a chat with him when he came with Barnet a few years ago. He wouldn't tell me why he is known as "Mad Dog"
